2020 Quad County Business Summit

Quad County Business Summit

Fluvanna County, VA –  Fluvanna County Economic Development Office, in collaboration with the Fluvanna Chamber of Commerce, Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and peer organizations in Greene County, Louisa County and Orange County will host the 2020 Quad County Business Summit on November 17 from 1:00-4:00 pm.

The 5th Annual QCBS will be virtual. The event will feature keynote speaker Sandy Sponaugle from Platinum PR. Participants will also hear from Hope Lawrence of Hudson Henry Baking Company on how her Fluvanna business has reached its current level of success. The Summit will include additional breakout sessions and even a chance for virtual networking. The event is free for Quad County business owners. Interested participants can register on www.qcbsummit.com

“The Quad County Business Summit is an important event for our rural entrepreneurs. We hope the virtual format will allow more business owners and their employees a chance to participate,” said Bryan Rothamel, Fluvanna County’s Economic Development Coordinator.

The Summit will also include the QuadTank, a winner take all pitch competition. The QuadTank is available for new or current business owners from the four counties. Businesses will need to prepare a business plan and pitch for the panel of judges. The final presentations and judge questions will be live the morning of November 17 for Summit participants to view. The grand prize for the QuadTank is $5,000. Last year’s winner was JB Cakes of Orange County.

This year the Quad Counties are inviting Madison County businesses to participate in the Summit as special guests! Madison County entrepreneurs can view the QuadTank and participate in the Summit with the other Central Virginia business owners.

“Our four counties have so much in common with Madison County that we felt it was natural to have Madison join this year’s virtual event,” said Rothamel. “We look forward to seeing Madison business owners join the Summit this year.”

Registration and sponsorship opportunities are listed on the Summit website: www.qcbsummit.com. Please save the date, November 17, to virtually attend this event.  For more information, please contact Bryan Rothamel, Economic Development Coordinator, at (434) 591-1921.
