Zion Crossroads water tower logo to be painted

Water Tower Logo Mock-up

Zion Crossroads, VA – The Zion Crossroads Water and Sewer System water tower logo is scheduled to be painted in the next week.

The logo, highlighting Fluvanna’s natural beauty, is a version of the new Fluvanna County logo. It features a canoer and a bicyclist enjoying Fluvanna’s natural beauty of a hillside, trees, a waterway and a sunset. The logo faces the intersection of Route 15 and Route 250 and is optimized to welcome people into the county.

“We wanted a water tower logo that was welcoming to visitors, travelers driving into the County and residents alike,” said Eric Dahl, Fluvanna’s County Administrator. “This will serve as a great entrance corridor into the County.”

The water tower, part of the Fluvanna-owned Zion Crossroads Water and Sewer System, is currently under construction. The system will utilize water from the Mechunk Creek to service approximately four miles of the Route 250 and Route 15 corridor of Fluvanna County. The system is slated to be completed later this year.

Zion Crossroads is already home to over 25 industrial companies from Fluvanna, along with an additional three office buildings. In the past two years, Fluvanna has approved plans for Greenberry’s headquarters, Carbon Core expansion, and Foothill Irrigation headquarters.

“Fluvanna is growing,” said Bryan Rothamel, Fluvanna’s Economic Development Coordinator. “The water tower will be a great marketing tool to welcome potential new businesses and visitors. It showcases our greatest asset: our natural beauty.”

The water tower painting schedule is subject to weather. Painters are finishing the base coat of the tower. The logo will be 18 feet high and 34 feet wide.
