TJHD is one of 35 health districts under the Virginia Department of Health and serves the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. TJHD provides numerous health services (including clinical, environmental and community-based programs) to the approximately 250,000 residents of the district with an 8.5 million dollar budget.
