A Virginia State Scenic River, the James River has two points of entry along the Fluvanna southern boarder. One is in the Hardware Wildlife Management Area. The other is across the river from Bremo Bluff in Buckingham in New Canton.

The Holland Page Place is a post Civil War log cabin built by John Benjamin Page in 1865.  The property includes both farmland and woods  surrounding the cabin.  John W. Holland  bought the property in 1934,  and in 1998, Mrs.

The Fluvanna Farm Heritage Museum equipment and displays demonstrate the legacy of Fluvanna’s agricultural history, highlighting collections of antique farm equipment and more.

Old Stone Jail Museum was built in 1828, designed by General John Hartwell Cocke and built by John G. Hughes. The early minutes of the County Court indicate that a “sufficient Gaol” was needed. In 1963 the “Gaol” was opened as the museum for the permanent collection of Fluvanna historical artifacts.

CVSC is a public shooting range that offers wobble trap, 5-stand, a sporting clays course,and instruction. The Owner (Brad Landseadel) is an NSCAAA class shooter and an NSCA shooting instructor. CVSC was born when Brad was thinking about relocating here from Northern Virginia and realized that Central Virginia did not have many facilities for sporting clays shooters.

The family has been in the orchard business for five generations. The orchard started in 1929 in Winchester, VA, but in 2000, grandfather Robert Solenberger asked if he could plant “a few” apple trees in the front yard here in Palmyra so the grandkids could learn about the family business. He showed up with 900 apple trees, and life hasn’t been the same since. Now Fruit Hill Orchard has over 2,000 fruit trees and annually plant thousands of other vegetables.

With the Rivanna River and adjacent forests and fields, we have every type of Piedmont Virginia habitat represented in the Park. Over 20 miles of trails run through these habitats which contain a diverse population of wildflowers, animals and birds. Our river habitat is host to river otters, eagles and ducks while in our untended grassy fields you will see many songbirds, hawks, and rabbits. Walk our tree identification trail and learn the names of our many native Virginia trees.
