Welcome to Fluvanna County! Located in beautiful central Virginia, Fluvanna County is home to over 27,000 residents.  Established in 1777 and spanning over 282 square rural and partially populated miles, Fluvanna County has outstanding residential and business potential.  This great county is host to 14 historic sites, including the Old Stone Jail in historic downtown Palmyra.

Planning and Zoning Department

The Fluvanna County Planning and Zoning Department provides numerous services that relate to the well being and orderly development of the community.  The three primary areas of responsibility include current planning, long range planning, and code enforcement.

The Planning and Zoning Department is dedicated to efficiently and effectively serving the citizens and stakeholders of Fluvanna County primarily through these diverse services and products.

Welcome to the Fluvanna County Parks & Recreation homepage!  To locate one of our many activities, parks, facilities or programs use the links on the left side of your screen in green. We offer a wide variety of activities from youth sports to dog obedience. FCPR emphasizes on connecting with the community and strengthening of family and friends through the activities we offer.

Human Resources

The Fluvanna County Human Resources Department supports a fair, consistent, and well-run workplace for the County team. We provide HR services to County employees and to our partner agencies, including Constitutional Officers, the Circuit Court, the Department of Social Services, the Registrar’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Fluvanna County Public Library. We also assist members of the public with employment opportunities and general HR-related inquiries.

Finance

The Finance Department is responsible for processing County accounts payables, payroll for County employees, maintaining current general ledger for all County accounts, financial reporting, purchasing activity for the County, grant management, risk management, maintaining and issuance of all debt. Finance also works closely with the County Administrator in preparing and maintaining the County capital improvements plan and the annual budget.
