Well Water Testing: Drinking Water Clinic

Learn about your water quality through affordable, confidential testing and become empowered to make decisions about system maintenance and water treatment!

The goal of the Virginia Household Water Quality Program is to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with private water supplies, including wells, springs and cisterns.

How does it work?

  1. February 22-6:30 PM: Curbside pick-up. Fluvanna Community Center- 5725 James Madison Hwy, Fork Union, VA 23055 Receive directions about sample collection and a pick-up sample kit. Please contact office if you need other arrangements for kit pick-up.
  2. February 24- Between 7:00 AM- 9:30 AM Collect samples and drop off at Fluvanna Community Center (Alternate sample drop off- Zions Crossroads Park and Ride. We will need to know at registration if using this site.) Samples are sent to Virginia Tech for analysis.
  3. Results will be mailed. If you need help interpreting your results, or information about addressing any problems or concerns, you may reach out to the VCE-Fluvanna Office. 434-591-1950.

What does the water test include?

Iron  *  Manganese  *  Sulfate  *  Hardness  *  Sodium  *  Copper  *  Nitrate  *  Arsenic  *  Fluoride  *  pH  *  Total Dissolved Solids  *  Coliform bacteria  *  E. coli bacteria  *  Lead

How much does it cost? $60* per sample kit.

*Need based subsidies are available. Please pre-register as space is limited.
