*Part-time* Deputy Sheriff - Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a part-time Deputy Sheriff position. This is a sworn position that may work in courts, patrol, or administrative support as needed. Work hours will be day shift, approximately 20-25 hours per week.  Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, and be 21 years of age.
• Complete a thorough background investigation.
• Successfully complete a physical and psychological examination.
• Must be become DCJS trained and certified within one (1) year.
• Candidates must possess a current valid operator’s license.  

Compensation:

Salary is dependent upon experience, education and certifications.  Starting pay range for non-certified law enforcement officer is $16.46-$18.92 per hour, and $17.37-$19.97 per hour for certified law enforcement officer, depending upon other qualifications.

Position is eligible for vacation leave accruals. Not eligible for VRS retirement or benefits.
