The Economic and Development Tourism Advisory Council created a list of 101+ Things to Do in Fluvanna County. The list resides in the From Fluvanna app with ability to search via map, category and more.

Wineries
Fluvanna County has two wineries open to the public. Cunningham Creek Winery is located on Ruritan Lake Road. Thistle Gate Vineyard is located on Route 6, near Scottsville. Both have weekend hours and special events throughout the year.

Food and Drink
Fluvanna County has a number of restaurants available for tourists and residents alike. Cuisine options range from BBQ to Asian, steak dinners to burgers, sandwiches to Mexican!

Recreation
Fluvanna County is home to the 900 acre Pleasant Grove Park with 22 miles of hiking, horse and biking trails. Also, the Scheier Natural Area (maintained by the Rivanna Conservation Alliance) is 100 acres with several hiking trails too.
The Carysbrook Sports Complex has a little league baseball field and softball field. A basketball gymnasium is available at the complex. An outdoor basketball court, playground and picnic shelter complete the Carysbrook Sports Complex.

Outdoor Activities
Fluvanna County has three rivers and two lakes for those interested in water activities. The James River, Rivanna River and Hardware River all have Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources public boat launches. Another public fishing location is the Ruritan Lake on Ruritan Lake Road. The Hardware Wildlife Management Area also has areas to fish in the James and Hardware rivers. The Hardware WMA is a permitted hunting location too.
The Lake Monticello community includes a 300 acre private lake. There is also a private fishing pond in Lake Monticello.
The Winter Haven Game Farm & Preserve is a private, licensed shooting preserve offering Pheasant, Chukar, and Quail hunting in Fluvanna. Winter Haven provides individual or group guided hunts with experienced guides and well-trained dogs. The hunting preserve habitat is filled with natural grass fields and woods, as well as fields and crops that were custom planted for ideal upland bird hunting.
Central Virginia Sporting Clays is a shooting range that offers wobble trap, 5-stand, sporting clays course and instruction.

Golf
Lake Monticello Golf Course is a par 72 public golf course in the Lake Monticello community. The golf course was designed by Buddy Loving. The course is available for public play.
The Pleasant Grove Park Disc Golf Course is open for play! It is 18 holes through the meadows and woods of Pleasant Grove. Discs are available to rent from the Pleasant Grove House.

History
Fluvanna has a bevy of historic options that are available for self-guided tours and formal tours. The Pleasant Grove House has two museum exhibits: Fluvanna history and transportation. The Farm Museum, located next door to the Pleasant Grove House. It has historic farm equipment, most were used by Fluvanna farmers!
In Palmyra is the Village of Palmyra Self-Guided Tour, the Historic Courthouse, and the Old Stone Jail. Just a short drive from the village is the Holland-Page House, a historically renovated 1865 farm house.
The Bremo Slave Chapel is located in Bremo at Grace Episcopal Church. The gorgeous Gothic Revival structure was built in 1835 as part of the Bremo Plantation. It is the state's only known slave chapel. The building is currently used by Grace Episcopal as an activity center.
The former town of Columbia was a once bustling town. The area is near the confluence of the James and Rivanna rivers and was a major transportation hub with the railroad. Flooding over the years devastated the town including historic rainfalls in 1969, 1972 and 1985. In 2015 the town residents voted to revoke the charter. The General Assembly revoked the town's 1788 charter in 2016. Fluvanna County received a FEMA grant to remove structures in the flood zone. The County now owns those vacant lots. Inside the former town limits is the Shrine to St. Katharine Drexel at St. Joseph's Church.

Fork Union
The Fork Union Village is centered around the Fork Union Military Academy. FUMA, a military school for boys, has several public parades, flag raisings and other events. The Academy, besides being known about college preparatory, is well known for its athletic programs including the postgraduate football and basketball programs.
The Fluvanna Community Center is located in Fork Union. Various Parks and Recreation programs are housed at the Community Center, including yoga, dog training, a commercial kitchen and Fluvanna's senior center. The Community Center has space available to reserve including the auditorium.
TransAmerica Bike Route 76
Fluvanna is host to twenty-two miles of the famed TransAmerica Bike Route 76 that crosses the United States. Cyclists will enjoy seeing the beautiful countryside and historic sites along the route. Plan a pit stop at a local winery or eatery as part of your trip!
