Fluvanna Water Tower Ranked 10th Nationally

ZION CROSSROADS, VA – The Zion Crossroads Water and Sewer System water tower design was selected as one of the best painted water tanks in America. Tnemec, a company who specializes in coatings and linings, picked the Fluvanna water tower logo as the 10th best logo painted in 2020.

The Zion Crossroads Water Tower logo is a variation of the Fluvanna County logo. The logo highlights the County’s natural beauty with a canoer in a river and a bicyclist enjoying the countryside among rolling hills, trees, and a setting sun.

Fluvanna Welcomes 93 New Jobs from Silk City Printing

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Silk City Printing, LLC will relocate its corporate headquarters from Paterson, New Jersey, investing $5.7 million to establish a new silkscreened apparel production operation in the former Thomasville facility in Fluvanna County that has been vacant since 2007. Virginia successfully competed with New Jersey for the project, which will create 93 new jobs. 

Firefly Fiber Broadband Partners with Fluvanna County to Expand Rural Broadband with CARES Act Funding

(Arrington, VA)-Firefly Fiber BroadbandSM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Central Virginia Electric Cooperative(CVEC), is partnering with FluvannaCounty to make use of the fundsthat are available for non-CVEC areas in the county as a one-time opportunity to quickly expand broadband availability in response to COVID issues. 2020 Quad County Business Summit

Fluvanna County, VA –  Fluvanna County Economic Development Office, in collaboration with the Fluvanna Chamber of Commerce, Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and peer organizations in Greene County, Louisa County and Orange County will host the 2020 Quad County Business Summit on November 17 from 1:00-4:00 pm.

RT. 53 TO BE CLOSED SEPT. 22 FOR PIPE WORK

Motorists advised to plan alternate routes 

CULPEPER — Motorists traveling on Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway) in Albemarle County should plan alternate routes next Tuesday while crews replace a failing pipe. 

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22, weather permitting, Route 53 will be closed to through traffic just west of Route 729 (Buck Island Road). 

Motorists will be detoured via Milton Road (Routes 729 and 732). Drivers are encouraged to avoid Route 53 and plan alternate routes. 

Virginia Department of Elections’ Statement Concerning Third Party Mailings

RICHMOND, VA – The Center for Voter Information recently mailed absentee ballot applications to Virginia residents. The Virginia Department of Elections has no affiliation with this group nor coordinates with any third party groups on campaign efforts. We are aware that voters in multiple localities that received an absentee ballot application were given pre-paid return envelopes addressed to the incorrect registrar’s office.
