Virginia Employment Commission Launches Application Portal for Federal Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation Benefits

RICHMOND – The Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) announced today that it has launched the application portal to the federal Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) benefits program. This program provides up to an additional 13 weeks of regular/traditional Unemployment Insurance benefits to individuals who have already exhausted their regular Unemployment Insurance benefits. Virginia Rent and Mortgage Relief Program (RMRP)

The Virginia Rent and Mortgage Relief Program (RMRP) is designed to support and ensure housing stability across the commonwealth during the coronavirus pandemic. Depending on availability of funds and household need, the RMRP may provide financial assistance for rent or mortgage payments for eligible households. This includes financial assistance for rent or mortgage payments past due beginning April 1, 2020 and onward.

This service is for ESSENTIAL USE ONLY.  Checking email, printing documents, filing for unemployment and other benefits, etc.  We are offering this service because we know many need this access, please be respectful and use it for something you NEED.

Because of disruptions caused by COVID-19, the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors extended the 2020 first half personal property and real estate tax deadlines to June 30, 2020.

The Treasurer's Office is open for in-person payments; however, we encourage you to pay by one of the following means:

Offices located in the County Administration Building are available by appointment only. 

Even though County Offices are reopening to the public, please consider conducting your business remotely.

Fluvanna County Will Observe Juneteenth Holiday

Many Fluvanna County offices will close on Friday, June 19th, in recognition of Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States," and commemorates the date when word finally reached Texas. (Juneteenth.com)

Fluvanna Dedicates $350,000 to Small Business Grants

PALMYRA, VA – At the June 17 meeting, the Fluvanna Board of Supervisors approved creating a $350,000 small business grant program.

The Funds for Recovery and Operations Management (FROM): Fluvanna Small Business Grants will help businesses from Fluvanna recover from the effects of the ongoing health crisis. FROM: Fluvanna grants will allow businesses to recoup increased cost of operation, lost revenue, and other unbudgeted expenses caused by the COVID-19 health crisis.
