Writ of Election for Commission of the Revenue

A Writ of Election from the Circuit Court of Fluvanna County has been submitted to the Fluvanna County Registrar and Secretary of the Electoral Board following the resignation of Andrew M. Sheridan, Commissioner of Revenue, effective December 31, 2025.

July 2025 - High Heat and Heat Index

Temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s throughout the weekend, with real feel temps up to 110 degrees.

Fluvanna County Emergency Management will continue to monitor temperatures and weather. Alerts will be sent in the event of hazardous conditions.

Fraudulent Email Alert

Fluvanna County has been made aware of fraudulent emails that appear to be originating from the Department of Planning and Zoning. These emails contain false and misleading information regarding recent applications and indicate that additional action, as well as payment via wire transfer, may be required before final approval is granted.

It does not appear that a data breach has occurred as the information contained in the emails appears to come from the use of publicly available information obtained from the County’s website.

Comprehensive Plan Community Input Survey

As Fluvanna County prepares to update its Comprehensive Plan, citizens are invited to participate in the process. All information provided is confidential and will assist in gathering information on issues important to citizens. The survey is available online by scanning the QR code included on the flyer below or by visiting this link. Paper copies of the survey form are available throughout the County and will be mailed upon request. The survey will be available until May 30, 2025.

Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 44-146.21, a local emergency has been declared for Fluvanna County, effective February 11, 2025 at 8:00am.

January 7, 2025 Planning Commission Meeting Cancelled

The January 7, 2025 Planning Commission Meeting - Work Session and Regular Meeting - has been CANCELLED.

A Special Meeting has been called for Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with a Work Session to begin at 6:00pm, followed by Regular Meeting at 7:00pm.

Meeting location is the Morris Room of the County Administration Building, 132 Main Street, Palmyra, VA 22963.
