BENEFIT PROGRAMS SPECIALIST I/II:  The Benefit Programs Specialist is responsible for interviewing applicants and determining eligibility for benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, and other public assistance programs.  Candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills and analytical skills with the ability to apply complex policy to determine qualifications for financial assistance.  High School diploma or equivalency required. 

Fluvanna Department of Social Services - Human Services Assistant III

HUMAN SERVICES ASSISTANT III:  Performs receptionist and office duties, provides assistance to the public and provides administrative support to the benefits and services teams.  Must possess organizational, customer service and computer skills.  Qualifications include a high school diploma supplemented with post-secondary coursework in one of the social or behavioral sciences.  Salary range is $29,334 - $40,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Electronic Bikes (E-bikes)

It is important to know the laws in Virginia on e-bikes and practice safe e-cycling. 

 

Virginia divides e-bikes into three classes:

Class 1: Pedal-assist only, motor assists up to 20 mph. Allowed on streets, bike lanes, and shared paths.

Class 2: Throttle-assist available, motor assists up to 20 mph. Similar access as Class 1 but throttle use may be locally restricted.
