1. Completing any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries or a similar agency of another state;
2. Completing any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course;

Forms to request a replacement concealed handgun permit are provided below.

Address Change - $10.00 Fee    Permit holder must present the valid permit and the Virginia State Police’s form SP-248A.  

Lost/Destroyed Permit or Legal Name Change - $5.00 Fee.  Permit holder must submit Request for Replacement Permit form.

• Applicants who are renewing a concealed handgun permit must apply in the City or County of their residence.
• Applicants may renew online any time or in-person in the Clerk's Office from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Renewal applications must include a photocopy of the applicant's valid photo identification [issued by a governmental agency of the Commonwealth or by the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. State Department (passport)] and a photocopy of the applicant's most recent permit.

Applicants may apply online any time or in-person in the Clerk's Office from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
