Sheriff Eric B. Hess
Sheriff Hess considers it an honor and a privilege to serve the great citizens of Fluvanna County.  Sheriff Hess has dedicated more than 30 years of his life to public service, 24 of those years in Law Enforcement  and has enjoyed a diverse and rewarding career.

Major Wells has been serving Fluvanna since 2006, but his law enforcement career goes back much farther.  He started law enforcement in 1995 when he first served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the City of Colonial Heights Police Department.  In 1997 he became a Police Officer for the Division of Capitol Police in Richmond.  From there he became a Police Officer for the City of Waynesboro Police Department where he started as a patrol officer before moving up to become a detective.  He also served on the department's SWAT Team. 

Director Michael R. Grandstaff

Director Michael R. Grandstaff began his career at the Sheriff’s Office in September of 2008 as a Communications Officer.  He progressed through the ranks in the Communications Center serving as CTO and Communications Supervisor prior to being promoted to Director in 2016.  He now oversees the Communications and Technology Division and the County Public Safety Radio System.  Grandstaff is a founding member and current leader of the agencies Tactical Dispatch Team.
