Update: Lake Monticello Death Investigation

Palmyra, Va. – On Saturday, September 5, 2015 at approximately 3:56 A.M., Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call for service at the 500 block of Jefferson Drive in the Lake Monticello subdivision, where officers discovered the body of a deceased female at the residence.

The victim has been identified as Tayler Lindsey Harsch Burruss, age 23, of Palmyra.

Burruss’ spouse, Franklin Lee Burruss, age 33, was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder involving the death of wife, Tayler.

Franklin Burruss is currently being held without bond, and is scheduled for a bail hearing on September 16, 2015.

The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a homicide. The manner of death is still under investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office and the results may take several weeks to determine.

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Virginia State Police, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lake Monticello Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.
