65. Pay a visit to the historic Town of Columbia.

Columbia, formerly known as Point of Fork, is the oldest continuously settled community in Fluvanna. Located at the confluence of the James and Rivanna Rivers, the town was a major transport hub throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. While Columbia is much quieter now, it still features a range of historic buildings, including the historic church of St. Joseph's with its shrine to St. Katherine of Drexel.

Blue Ridge Ballooning shares the beauty of God’s creation with others by helping them realize that in the words of the wise sage Winnie the Pooh, “Life is a journey to be experienced!” They have been offering hot air balloon rides since 1999.

62. Become a Master Naturalist through Fluvanna Parks & Rec.

Rivanna Master Naturalists conduct annual "Master Naturalist" classes at Pleasant Grove, with graduates typically participating in a large variety of conservation-related projects in the county, from developing a plan to preserve natural resources in the county to river cleanups to working with youth groups.

Organizers of the Community Connections Fair expect hundreds of Fluvanna residents to flock to Fluvanna County High School Saturday, MARCH 28 to enjoy food, entertainment, door prizes, informational workshops, activities for kids and adults, and exhibits by more than 50 Fluvanna nonprofits seeking volunteers.  Admission and all activities are free at the fair from 10 AM-3 PM. continuing reading

Updated Railroad Crossing Construction

Please see updated construction closing information below:

Southern Commercial Development, LLC. working with CSX Transportation to provide traffic control and detour signage for railroad crossing closures which require routine maintenance, shares the following railroad detour information: 

CSX Railroad has scheduled the below list of crossings to be closed for repair.  This will necessitate rerouting traffic.  Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Please note the expected close dates. Each crossing will be closed for 2 to 5 days.
