Regional Transit Vision Plan Survey

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission invites you to participate in Phase 2 of the Regional Transit Vision Plan. Sheriff's Office Requests Community's Assistance - Recent Vehicle Break-Ins and Thefts

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of our community with information related to a rash of vehicle break-ins and thefts that occurred in the early morning of Tuesday May 17th, 2022. The break-ins appear to be concentrated to the Lake Monticello area of Jefferson Drive between the Slice and Riverside Gates as well as in the Sycamore Square Subdivision.

Controlled Burn Wednesday, March 30, 2022 - Pleasant Grove Park Closed

Pleasant Grove Park will be closed Wednesday, March 30, in order to allow the Virginia Department of Forestry to conduct a controlled burn in parts of the park.

The park and all trails will be closed for the day; only the Dog Park play yards will remain open.

McIver Dam Update

Fluvanna County continues to monitor an evolving situation with a privately-owned dam located at McIver Lake. This is a private lake in the south portion of the county, near Bremo Bluff.

As of 10:30am this morning, the dam is holding.

Rt. 639, Long Acre Rd to be closed - Bridge Replacement Scheduled 4/4/22

VDOT's Bridge Crew is preparing to begin construction on the Rt. 639 bridge over South Fork Cunningham Creek.

Construction is scheduled to begin on April 4th, 2022 and will last approximately 6 weeks.

Long Acre Rd will be closed throughout the duration of the project and there are no plans to install a formal detour during construction. There will be message boards put up this week to inform the public of the road closure and the boards will remain for the duration of the project stating to "USE ALTERNATE ROUTES''.
