With the continued freezing temperatures, snow/sleet on the roads and slippery road conditions:

FLUVANNA COUNTY OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED, MONDAY, JANUARY 26.

Updates to County operations will be provided as necessary.

Declaration of Local Emergency - Feb 11, 2025

Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 44-146.21, a local emergency has been declared for Fluvanna County, effective February 11, 2025 at 8:00am.

January 7, 2025 Planning Commission Meeting Cancelled

The January 7, 2025 Planning Commission Meeting - Work Session and Regular Meeting - has been CANCELLED.

A Special Meeting has been called for Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with a Work Session to begin at 6:00pm, followed by Regular Meeting at 7:00pm.

Meeting location is the Morris Room of the County Administration Building, 132 Main Street, Palmyra, VA 22963.

Pursuant to Va. Code §§ 24.2-669 and -671.1 the Virginia Department of Elections is conducting—in coordination with Virginia’s local electoral boards and registrars—a statewide risk-limiting audit of the US Senate results of the November 5, 2024, election. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time dedicated to remembering victims whose lives ended too soon as the result of domestic violence, offering safety and support for those currently in abusive relationships and celebrating survivors who are now free from their abusers. 

911 And Non-Emergency Phones Have Been Restored

UPDATE:

911 and Non-Emergency Phone Outage
For Immediate Release – No Further Updates Anticipated

At this time, it appears that the 911 and normal non-emergency phone service has been restored to the Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Communications Center. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911. If you need other assistance, the normal nonemergency number, 434-589-8211 can be used. If you encounter difficulty connecting, the two numbers previously released will be available and monitored until 7:00 PM today in case further outages occur.

Voter Registration Office Closed Thursday, July 18

The Fluvanna County Voter Registration office will be closed Thursday, July 18th  to attend State Board of Elections training.
