Governor Northam Recognizes Virginia’s Correctional Officers

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam has proclaimed May 5–11, 2019 as Correctional Officers’ Week in Virginia, which honors and acknowledges the men and women who serve as correctional officers in the Commonwealth. Correctional officers play a vital role in helping Virginia maintain the lowest recidivism rate in the nation, a distinction the Commonwealth holds for the third year in a row. DEEP CREEK ROAD CLOSED APRIL 3 FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT

Fluvanna County road closed to through traffic; use alternate routes

CULPEPER — Route 629 (Deep Creek Road) in Fluvanna County will be closed to through traffic April 3 while crews replace a pipe located about 0.3-mile west of Route 631 (Dogwood Drive).

The road will be closed between Route 630 (Hollands Road) and Route 631. The pipe work is located west of the ongoing project to replace the bridge over Middle Fork Kent Branch.

Fluvanna County begins Zion Crossroads Water-Sewer System Construction

ZION CROSSROADS, VA -- Construction of Fluvanna County’s highly anticipated Zion Crossroads Water and Sewer System project officially began on March 8th as the County issued formal notices to proceed to its three contractors.

2019 Quad-County Business Summit will include the 'Quad Tank'

Fluvanna County, VA –  Fluvanna County Economic Development Office, in collaboration with the Fluvanna Chamber of Commerce, Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and peer organizations in Greene County, Louisa County and Orange County has just announced the inclusion of a pitch competition titled, The Quad Tank, to be held at this year’s Summit.  The Quad Tank will offer entrepreneurs from the four localities a funding opportunity to take their business ideas to the next level.

PLAIN DEALING ROAD CLOSED MARCH 13 FOR DEBRIS REMOVAL
The Virginia Department of Transportation will close Route 630 (Plain Dealing Road) at the bridge over Byrd Creek in Fluvanna County March 13 for debris removal.
VDOT crews will use heavy equipment to remove debris that has washed against the bridge to reduce the risk of flooding during future storms.

Mr. Eric M. Dahl became the Fluvanna County Administrator on July 6, 2019.

Conservation District offers huge discounts on septic repairs and replacements!

Union Mills Road Open to Traffic

Update from VDOT on closure of Union Mills Road to replace culvert washout caused by the torrential rains in September:

  • VDOT Crews have finished the emergency culvert replacement project on Route 616 (Union Mills Road) in Fluvanna County. The road is open to traffic.
