County Administrator Says Goodbye

Palmyra - Steven M. Nichols helmed his final Board of Supervisors meeting on July 2, 2019. Following a special presentation, Mr. Nichols, briefly reflected on his time with Fluvanna County. Chair Mike Sheridan highlighted Mr. Nichols dedication and love for the County, and noted that he has always appreciated that, "(Mr. Nichols is a) leader that leads by example."

July JRWA Meeting Canceled

By order of Chairman Watson, the July 2, 2019, meeting of the James River Water Authority has been canceled.  The next scheduled meeting is on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

Persimmon Tree Dedication Ceremony

PALMYRA – On Monday, June 17, 2019, friends and family gathered in Civil War Park for a ceremony of dedication and remembrance on the two year anniversary of the passing of Fluvanna native, Navy Seaman Dakota Kyle Rigsby, who died in service to his country.

Thomas Jefferson Health District Environmental Health Services Closed on June 17 and June 18

(Charlottesville, Va.) – Thomas Jefferson Health District (TJHD) Environmental Health offices and services, including vital records, will be closed on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18, 2019, for staff training. Services will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH), including TJHD, will be migrating to a new data system state-wide on June 20, 2019. For about 7 to 10 days, some Environmental Health services that rely on the use of our database will be interrupted.
