Business Watch Program

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office, under the Fluvanna Safe Community Initiative, will reach out to local businesses to help build a safer environment for both the employee and the consumer.  The program is built around three different elements which consist of written policies involving the response to emergencies, employee training, and environmental design principals.  This program will also promote direct communication with the sheriff’s office.  

The Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office wants to partner with the business community while becoming a bigger resource to when it comes to crime prevention and safety. The program is designed to open up lines of communication between law enforcement, business owners, managers, and supervisors.  As part of the program, our Deputies will facilitate dialog and electronic communication between participating businesses.  This line of communication can be used to forward information between members involving past crimes, suspicious activity, and general suspect descriptions so each business can be prepared in the event of potential victimization.  It can be viewed as an early warning system to crimes occurring in your area.
